The Razer Ornata V2 is now continued into Razer's Ornata lineup. The lineup itself consists of rather low-profile keyboards designed for casual gaming use, and they use membrane or in this case their own hybrid "Mecha-Membrane" switches instead of generic mechanical switches. It's a great overall budget-friendly gaming keyboard for casual gamers. The Razer Ornata V2 is its own new continuation of Razer's budget-friendly Ornata lineup. The only difference in this case with the key switches are in fact membrane, which require a bit more force to work. However, this updated version of the Ornata Chroma features significantly more gimmicks and gadgets , like the plushy wrist rest, per-key lighting customization, and the dedicated volume knob. And while you can also set macros to any key through the Razer Synapse 3 software, this is unfortunately available on Windows only.
Here are some more characteristics that this keyboard features:
Razer Hybrid Mecha-Membrane Technology: Fusing the snappy, clicky feedback of a mechanical switch with the familiar feel of a conventional keyboard, each keystroke you make is as satisfying as it is precise
Multi-function Digital Wheel and Media Keys for convenient control: Configure them to pause, play, skip and tweak everything from brightness to volume—the ultimate convenience as you enjoy your entertainment
Powered by Razer Chroma RGB for customizable lighting and greater game immersion: With 16.8 million colors and a suite of effects to choose from, personalize the keyboard and enjoy greater immersion with dynamic lighting effects that trigger as you game on Chroma-integrated titles
Plush leatherette ergonomic wrist rest for long-lasting gaming comfort: The soft, cushioned support magnetically snaps to the keyboard and is perfectly aligned to relieve pressure on your wrists, so you feel less fatigued when gaming over long periods
Fully programmable keys for custom profiles, key bindings, and macros: Make your execution and gameplay more efficient by mapping your desired functions via Razer Synapse 3, and tweak the keyboard to suit your playstyle by creating and saving unique profiles and macros
"The baseline price of no-frills mechanical keyboards has dropped to the Razer board's $99.99 ballpark; these boards don't have media controls and may lack the polish of a Razer product, but if you can afford an Ornata V2, you can afford true mechanical keys. That doesn't mean you should automatically dismiss the V2, but it's just one of several great options in this price range.." - uk.pcmag.com
